About the event
Fiction, non-fiction, poetry and experimental ways of storytelling all have one thing in common for latinx writers: though it may be a passion of the heart, many of us lack the resources, means or knowledge on how to lay, then navigate, a path toward a successful writing career. And though our family and friends are often impressed by our devotion (wepa, dique escritor/a!), many are puzzled by our insistence that being a writer is a real job. Our bank accounts don’t disagree. Through interactive writing exercises, open discussion on various options to launch and sustain a writing practice, this workshop will arm participants with powerful tools to lay a path to victory through an industry that is woefully lacking in diversity.
